Police said that he has been identified as Lakhan Singh. Lakhan had been jailed in 2018 in a criminal case. A forensic team along with the investigators visited the spot for inquiry. Iraj Raza, SP (rural), told TOI that Lakhan had left home on Sunday morning after feeding his cows. “He hadn’t informed the family members that he was going out. When he didn’t return home, the family started searching for him, but they couldn’t track him. They then informed the police. After filing a missing FIR, police started a search operation to trace Lakhan,” he said.
“In the evening, a few children spotted the body while they were playing in the village ground. The body was found at the locked home, when one of the children went to pick the ball,” he said. “On the basis of his family’s complaint, an FIR has been registered against six people under the section of 302 (punishment for murder) of IPC,” Raza said.
