NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Gautam Buddh Nagar reported 355 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, marginally higher than the number registered on Tuesday.
This takes the district’s tally to 60,647 cases.
The total number of people discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours was 725.
The district also reported five deaths, even as there were 5,161 active cases.
The administration, along with authorities, organised sanitation drive at 479 locations across the district.
A testing drive was also conducted in several villages of Sadar tehsil.
The district on Wednesday vaccinated 6,445 people at 56 government centres.
These included 346 people over 60 years, 1,051 in the 45-59 category and 5,037 people in the age group of 18-44.
Meanwhile, with 12 deaths reported on Wednesday, Ghaziabad‘s toll reached 400.
The district has been reporting deaths daily for the past 32 days with the highest 24 deaths reported in a single day on May 4.
The district on Wednesday reported 307 new cases, taking the tally to 52,384. In the past four days, Ghaziabad has been reporting fewer cases compared to the previous days. From May 16 till 18, the numbers were around the 250 mark.
A total of 552 people were discharged on Wednesday and so far 48,937 people have been discharged in the district. Total active cases on Wednesday was 3,017.
About 9,287 people were vaccinated on Wednesday across 48 government centres in Ghaziabad.
While 1,064 were administered vaccines in the age group of 60 plus, 2,635 people in the 45 plus category got the jabs.
In the 18-44 years category, 5,597 people were vaccinated while the rest were frontline and healthcare workers.
The administration will start a drive-through vaccination programme at Red Square Mall in Mohan Nagar from Friday.
