Cops arrested the father-son duo and their accomplice, and subsequently recovered the boy’s body from a drain in Sector 62.

NOIDA: In a pot-boiler crime thriller, an 11-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and killed by his uncle with the help of the latter’s son and an accomplice. All the three have been arrested, police said on Thursday.
Around 12pm on Wednesday, police said, Abhishek’s cousin Kunal called him out of his house in Noida’s Phase-3 on the pretext of playing PUBG mobile game together. Kunal took the boy a little distance away where his father Manoj was already waiting, along with an associate named Roshid Ali, to kidnap Abhishek. Though Abhishek had raised an alarm, locals who knew them ignored it thinking it was a private matter.
Jitendra Kumar Dixit, SHO of Phase-3 police station, said when the parents of the boy didn’t find their child in the house, they started a search operation. “Later, they visited the police station and lodged a missing person’s complaint, based on which we started a search operation. And soon we came to know from local residents that Abhishek was last seen with his uncle and cousin,” he said.
Cops soon arrested the father-son duo and their accomplice, and subsequently recovered the boy’s body from a drain in Sector 62. “The accused have confessed to the crime. Manoj told us that he had plotted the boy’s kidnapping for Rs 10 lakh ransom but later killed the minor fearing they might be caught. Kunal had strangled Abhishek before dumping the body in the drain,” the SHO said.
The accused have been booked under IPC sections 364A (kidnapping for ransom), 302 (murder), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy). The three were produced in a court that sent them to judicial custody. “The boy’s body has been handed over to his father, Gariban, who works at a private company in Noida, after an autopsy,” Dixit said.
