AUTHORITIES RACING AGAINST TIME TO REGISTER 1600 FLATS

The Noida authority, the Greater Noida authority and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority are racing against time to meet their target to register over 16,000 flats before the month ends. So far, Noida has been able to register only 550 out of its target of 5,500 flats, Greater Noida around 1000 of its 8,000 flats and Yeida around 500 of its 2,600 flats. The authorities’ officials say that the backlog was because developers were yet to pay dues to them. “We are organizing camps at the societies to facilitate the registries of homebuyers. We will make sure homebuyers execute registries without any hassle. We are holding camps frequently for the homebuyers’ ease,” said Santosh Kumar, officer on special duty of the Greater Noida authority. “We have asked the developers to clear dues flat wise as the Noida and Greater Noida had allowed earlier. We took this decision in the interest of homebuyers,” said Arun Vir Singh chief executive officer (CEO) of the Yeida.
The Noida authority chief executive officer Ritu Maheshwari has directed the staff to make sure the registries happen at camps in projects, where the developer has cleared all dues as per norms. ‘Those developers, who have cleared all dues in proportion to the number of flats, where registries are to happen, the authority is holding camps to expedite the registries,” said Ritu Maheshwari. Developers say that they are clearing dues. “Now more and more developers are coming forward to clear dues and execute registries so that the homebuyers get flat titles and shift into their houses. Per flat registries is a positive initiative and it will benefit the homebuyers,” said RK Arora UP president of national real estate Developers Corporation. On March 3, the Uttar Pradesh chief secretary had directed the three authorities to expedite the process. Following this, the authorities asked developers to clear their dues on a per-flat basis instead of paying all in one-go.
