8 Officers in 8 zones will monitor air quality in Greater Noida.

The authority has drawn up an action plan for 8 zones in the city for effective implementation of air pollution. Each zone will have a zonal officer who will monitor pollution in the area as per guidelines of the National Green Tribunal (NGT). The authority also planned for anti smog water guns at construction sites having a size of 20000 square metres or more, which it will use to remove the dust prone with the use of water sprinkling. GNIDA has also set up a control room to address complaints which will be raised by residents against air pollution. The GNIDA chief said, we have divided Gr. Noida in 8 zones to ensure that the NGT rules are followed in spirit. A zonal officer has been appointed for each zone with a nodal officer to coordinate with all zones in implementing and monitoring rules to prevent air pollution. Each zonal officer will send a report on a regular basis to the nodal officer, which will be sent to senior GNIDA officials. For traffic jams, help will be sought from traffic police. They will charge heavy fines when a violation of NGT rules and guidelines is found. The zonal officers will keep an eye on all construction sites and will ensure that NGT rules are followed.
